Vaginal Cysts? - waiting times

A vaginal cyst was found last year as bleeding in pregnancy, was told it would probably burst when I delivered baby and no further discussion was had about it and forgot about it. At 37 weeks pregnant a kidney tumour was found, along with liver lesions and polyps on colon. Tumour was cancerous and removed with my left kidney, two MRIs confirmed liver lesions benign and colonoscopy removed polyps, both benign. Then had kidney stones blocking the ureter to my only kidney, emergency and planned surgery and stents have only recently resolved this, for now as have Randall's Plaque so likely to get stones again. However, all these things consumed me and I didn't think about cyst which I wish I had now. Have recently found the lump is still in the vagina and asked GP if needed follow up and she's referred me to gynaecology. I've since found another similar feeling lump next to it. I contacted outpatients and was told there was a 26 week waiting list. Was gonna ask urologist if my scans to date would show anything up but my appointment this week was cancelled and not yet rearranged. Not sure of the point of this post really but wonder how others manage long wait times. It's likely a cyst but would like the reassurance given the last year has been tricky health wise overall and obvious worry that it's another cancer or worse mets from kidney. Thanks

  • Hello Bouncer,

I can understand your frustration - a 26 week waiting list sounds rather long and on top of that your appointment this week has been cancelled and not yet rearranged. I hope that you find out soon when it will now take place. Those are certainly long waiting times and I hope that you will hear from some of our members who have been in a similar situation and that they will have some good tips for you to help you cope with this long wait.

The best thing to do really is to take one day at a time and keep distracted rather than looking anything up online as this will only make you more anxious. This article on how to cope with waiting for news will have some good suggestions for you.

I hope you won't have to wait too long to be seen.

    Best wishes,
