Really worried about ultrasound results

So, unfortunately in May I developed a blood clot in my lower leg. As I am 'only 35' the hospital wanted to check up on what could have caused it. I was sent for a CT scan with contrast dye. The CT scan showed up nothing other than what looked like a small cyst on my adrenal gland. As a result of the cyst they sent me for an internal ultrasound. The ultrasound tech confirmed that the cyst was not on my adrenal gland and was actually a collection of cells or mass on my uterus (just above the cervix opening) I was sent for an urgent gynaecology appointment. During my appointment she stated that the results were quite worrying and she was going to take some samples. She was initially reassured that the physical examination showed no 'issues' with the appearance of my cervix and my last smear 1 year ago was clear. She did however say that the smears do not often capture cells that high and she had to use a different 'brush' to try and collect some. These have not been sent off. I am in that awful waiting stage.
Recently I have had some pain in my groin/pelvis area and it was seen on a scan that I had inflamed lymph nodes.
i am not really sure exactly what I am asking, or expecting people to say but I am so worried as a mom of 3 young boys and I have read forum and forum within 'cancer chats' and I just wanted to share my experience in case anyone had anything similar?

thanks for listening! Amy x

  • Hello Amy,

I just wanted to welcome you to our forum. I hope you won't have to wait too long for your ultrasound results. I can imagine it must be a very stressful time for you while waiting for these important results.

I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,
