Delayed adenoma/ovarian cyst biopsy results

Hey everyone,

I'd really appreciate some support and guidance as I am feeling very worried about my biopsy results which have been delayed.

I had keyhole surgery on 31st July (over 4 weeks ago) to remove a large 10cmx7cm cyst/adenoma. The initial diagnosis was unlcear as to whether the mass was a cyst or a tumour/adenoma.

I had slightly raised LDH levels on my blood test too which hasn't particularly been expalined to me in much detail.

When I was discharged from the hopsital after my surgery I was told I would recieve my reusults within 3 weeks via a letter in the post.

4 weeks on I have called the hopsital twice (once today and once last week) to be told my results have to be reviewed by the multidisiplinary team which was meant to happen last Friday (27th aug) but has been deyed to Fri this week.

Has anyone else been through a similar process? I am extremely anxious as I haven't had much explained to me and given that I was told I would recieve the results in the post in 3 weeks has skyrocketed the anxiety as now I naturually assume there wouldn't be anything to discuss if everything was okay, so I'd be very grateful for sharing of similar experiences for reassurance/additonal info.

Thank you all so much in advance!

  • Hello Cabi

I'm sorry to hear that you're still waiting on your post-surgery results. We know it can be a really worrying time for many people.

Sometimes there can be a delay in results being discussed at the MDT and this can be for many reasons such as the team not having the full information available to them if pathology results are delayed. Hopefully, they will have all the results in front of them at today's MDT meeting and they will be able to give you an update and some reassurance soon.

I do hope that you have some news soon. Keep in touch and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi Cabi.
I know it's now been another 2 months. I just wanted to know if you're okay and if you had your results back.
