Breast clinic appt tomorrow, feeling really nervous

Hi all,

I have my breast clinic appt tomorrow after what feels like ages waiting even though it's only 2 weeks. I have a pea sized hard lump. Hoping it's something benign and the odds are in my favour but I'm so nervous for tomorrow in case the news isn't good :(

What should I expect for tomorrow? Do I have the rights to ask them to take a biopsy if they try to send me home after the ultrasound?

    Hi Maisemore

It's understandable your nervous about your appointment tomorrow  but you will be in safe hands.

These consultants and breast care nurses do this day in day out, and so do know what they are doing.

Just put your trust in them, hopefully it won't be anything sinister. Good luck with everything.

  • Hey hun

ive just turned 21 a few days ago and currently due a baby in october, I went to the breast clinic in June because I found a lump in my left breast on the outer side, I worried myself sick physically thinking the worst.. in my case there was infact a mass but it was just a fibroadenoma which is apparently caused my hormones they biopsied and told me on the day that's what they think it is, but done the biopsy to be 100% sure got my results 7 days later and it was in fact what they initially said and discharged me fully but was just told me keep an eye on changes in shape & growth etc. Hopefully it all goes well for you, will be thinking of you if you haven't already had your appointment yet x

  • Thank you so much - glad it was all okay for you and totally relate to scaring yourself to death! I have it this afternoon and am so scared so it's great to hear positive stories. I've just gone contraceptive free after being on the contraceptive pill for 4 years so I'm hoping it's some hormonal issue

  • Since my scare my health anxiety has sky rocketed I'm still constantly everyday checking my lump to make sure it's still the same. Fibroadenomas are very common benign lumps in us younger women, really hope it all goes well for you. Hopefully it's from your pill and the change in your hormones etc stay positive

  • They think it's just scar tissue, such a relief. Will have a second opinion later this week but so glad all looks okay
