Welcome to Cancer Chat. I can understand your concerns and I know these situations are always unsettling. As you've had the scan, this should offer some reassurance, as opposed to just the physical inspections.

However if you feel you have further questions or are confused by them saying they couldn't feel/see anything, then you can always speak to your doctor or ask for a second opinion.

Hi just read your post,what a worrying time you for you.

I can see why you are questioning this,as you felt the lump ,also you say a lot if your friends felt the lump as well as  your own gp felt the lump,in the referring letter he even stated the size of the lump, no wonder you are questioning this.

I'd be thinking to many people felt an actual lump there,so where has it gone. 

Can you still feel it yourself?. You say your young,so could it have just been found ( the lump) that is before or just after your monthly period cycle ? ,as I know this can affect your hormones, and breasts around this time,  they can feel lumpy and tender to the touch during before or after your period. 

If you can still feel it, and your worried I'd go back to your gp and ask for a second oppinion.

 What type of scan did thry send you for  at the breast clinic ,you didn't say?. Was it a mamagram?.

If it was I don't want to alarm you, but I had a lumo ,my consultant could feel it.i had had a mamagram the year before I developed cancer in my breast  but the mamagram results came back clear 

After finding the lump, at the breast clinic I had three more mamagrams  and nothing showed up,so I was told it was because my breast tissue was dense for a lady of my age, I was 63 nearly 64,ill be 65 this November. So an ultrasound was scheduled the same day and it showed up my cancer lump.

So mamagrams don't always show up lumps if your breast tissue is dense,I had four in all,and none of them did.

I've just had my yearly mamagram, ( I have to be checked every year for sometime now) and to put my mind at rest I've requested an ultrasound, as I just dont trust mamagrams alone, but have had the results from the mamagram and was told all ok.  But I'm having an ultrasound  and will be this done on the 6th September 2021,so not long to wait now.

My advice to you is ,if you can definitely still feel the lump,go back to your gp explain your concerns,and if he or she can feel.it too, ask if you can have an ultrasound  as you know if your breast tissue is dense,it doesn't always pick things up.

It may be just your hormones that caused your bresst to feel lumpy  ,like I said,  but its worth discussing your concerns  with your gp .

You're entitled to a second opinion - if I were you I'd go back to GP and ask for second opinion, explain what happened. Did you have a mammogram or ultrasound? 

I recently turned 26 in regards to my age, yes I can definitely still feel it, I should have said something when she couldn't feel it lying down but I had ultra sound scan and assumed the physical wouldn't matter anyway, but if it disappears when I lay down I wonder how deep it is and if a simple ultra sound is enough to look that far back, I have no idea about medical things so I feel so silly for not feeling settled about what they told me, which is not to worry. It doesn't not hurt at all in the whole time I've known it's there ( 11th of Aug I noticed it) the lump isn't small like a pea more like a ridge very hard to touch .

I had a appointment at the breast clinic last week, have a lump in left breast on aerola. The dr could feel it and sent me for a ultra sound scan ( I'm 39).The scan didnt show anything the lady doing it said all looks normal tissue.She said couldnt do a biopsy as nothing to see but the lump is felt. I saw the dr again straight after and she wants to refer me to the breast surgery team which I'm going to in 2 weeks.She said maybe things may have changed and will be able to do a biopsy then.

If I was you I would ask for a second opinion

Hi again,as you say you can still feel.the lump  I'd definitely be ringing my Gp again if I was you, just to put your mind at rest, as we both know it will be on the back of your mind all the time untill you do. 

Even if it turns out to be nothing  which it maybe ,which is great if that is the case, it won't be waisting any ones time ,as worrying and stress is not good for you. 

Do call your GP and talk about your concerns and ask for a second oppinion, as your mind won't rest untill you do. I know as my mind won't rest untill I get my ultrasound on the 6th September 20021. Good luck  and be persistant if you have to. X Do let us know on here how you get on .
