Lots of small breast lumps?

Hi, I have been to the doctors today as I had an infected lump in the 'side boob' area..gardening when too hot/sweaty i thought....

About 4 weeks ago I woke with a massive lump..about cocktail sausage roll size!! on my left boob, around where a bra underwire would end

I had 2 weeks of antibiotics to clear the infection and had to go today for a follow up exam

They did a breast exam and then told me they could feel lots of small lumps in both breasts, they didn't seem too concerned but have booked me in at a breast clinic for a scan, as it is a cancer clinic I would hear in about 2 weeks

Now I am sitting hear really worried and don't know what to think....the lump I went for wasn't really concerning them and the other little lumps she mentioned I can't feel??

Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Thank you x

  • Hello Frizzy

I'm sorry to hear that you're dealing with some breast health worries at the moment. It's understandable that you're feeling a little anxious about things.

Some women have naturally lumpy breasts but it's generally a good idea to get these checked out which is why the GP has referred you to the breast clinic. Please try to keep in mind that the majority of women seen in breast clinic are not diagnosed with cancer.

Hopefully, the appointment you have arranged will give you some reassurance that there's nothing to be worried about but do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
