Symptoms of lung cancer

I've had pain in my ribs below my shoulder blade for a while now and was determined it was muscular or joint pain as I don't have a persistent cough... it's really worrying me as it's not improving over time.
Do most people have a cough with lung cancer? I'm in my 40's. Thanks.

    I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing continous pain in your ribs below the shoulder blade and that is causing you to be concerned you might have cancer.

    As your pain persists, if you haven't called your GP yet to have it checked perhaps it might be a good idea to do so the next time you get a chance.
