GP appointment in the morning

Hi everyone!

Last week sometime my husband noticed my areola was raised and lumpy, I didn't think anything of it but this morning I noticed that when I raise my arm my nipple like collapses and I get a lot of puckering and lumpy looking nipple and areola. I did an online e-cosult with my drs surgery and they've called me back and said I need to be seen in the morning. My breast is a little tender too.

I'm assuming I'll be put on the 2 week wait. I can't think of any other reason why the areola/nipple would suddenly pucker/thicken etc. I'm absolutely terrified, I'm 33 with 3 children aged (almost) 14, 12, and 6. My husband is very supportive of me as I suffer with anxiety anyway.

I've read through all the posts here and it's wonderful to see so much support!

Thank you for reading!

Xxx

Hi saz888, I can understand why you are worried, finding anything that doesn't look or feel right with any part of your body is a concern. You have done the right thing in making a GP appointment , it's the best course of action to take. Your bound to feel apprehensive  about it all your only human. You sound as if you have a lovely support around you, if your GP thinks it's best to have you seen at the breast clinic, that's a good positive . If there is anything sinister going on, it will be dealt with  ,and you will be well looked after.  I was diognosed with grade 2 breast cancer. Had  lumpectomy, chemo, radiotherapy, which ended March 2021, l have come through it all,had my first mamagram check 2 weeks ago this Sunday, just waiting on an ultrasound check,as mamagrams don't always show up anything for me as my breast tissue is dense. But I'm hoping all will be OK. Good luck for tomorrow.  Do keep us updated on here,as to how you got on.ps my son also had cancer testicular grade 4, it had spread to his stomach lymoth nodes. His chest and his lungs, but he's been given the all clear,so treatments do work.

  • Thank you so much for your reply. I'm sorry to hear you had breast cancer but I am really happy to read that you're a survivor!

I just don't know how I'll get through the next 2 weeks whilst I wait to be seen!

Hope you are well and best wishes for your scan xx

  • I forgot to add, sounds like your son has really been through it and how amazing that he's had the all clear after all that! Fantastic news xx
