Lump on Cervix

Hi all

Just wondering if anyone had a similar experience and how it turned out.

I went to the doctors due to bleeding all the time and when the doctor was taking swabs she noticed a "prominent lump on my cervix which has blood vessel type lumps on it". I have now been referred to a specialist which I need to see within 2 weeks.

I have a family history of cervical cancer and I am absolutely beside myself with worry.

Any similar stories or anyone know what it could possibly be ?

Thank you

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat, Clairetag.

I'm sorry to hear that your doctor, while taking swabs, noticed a lump on your cervix that had to be referred to the specialist, and that in addition to you family history is causing you to be worried.

Hopefully some of our forum members who have gone through a similar experience will be here soon to share their stories with you and offer support.

You mentioned your appointment is within two weeks. If you feel that it could help to speak with someone medically trained until then please know our lovely team of nurses would be happy to take your call. They're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

    Wishing you all the best,

  • Thank you for your response.

I have had a call today I have my appointment but it's not until the 6th of September so quite a few more days of worrying to go :(

  • Hope your appointment went ok today, I went to my gp today as have a lump on my cervix and a heavy feeling inside my vagina the gp said that my cervix is inflamed and she could see the lump and has referred me to the gynae team in the 2 week window so hoping I'm seen soon. I looked at my nhs app and it says suspected gynaecological cancer so I'm really worried waiting too x

  • Hi

Just wondering if either of you had any updates?

I found a lump on my cervix about 3-4 weeks ago and had my routine smear last weekend. I mentioned it to the nurse but she said she couldn't really see it properly and to contact GP however I thought I would wait for my smear results back first if that makes sense.

    Thanks
