CIN 3 results and now going for LLETZ treatment tomorrow

Hi I am going for LLETZ treatment tomorrow after receiving biopsy results of CIN 3 last week. They have said treatment may not be possible unless I'm put to sleep as during my biopsy last time my cervix was 'bulky' and they may not be able to reach the effected area while il awake.

last two days I've been extremely achy bad back and a lot of abominable pain similar to pelvic girdle pain. I've had these pains last few month and felt like they were gradually worsening but now it's all of a sudden hit me

any advice on anyone who's been through the same and what their outcome was or what to expect during and after treatment would be hugely appreciated.

Thankyou

  • Thankyou, I found a diagram on how it's done this explained it a bit simpler to me then.

I'm more nervous as I am so tender it's more the prodding and poking that causes a lot of discomfort. The doctor who completed my biopsy last time spoke to me before hand and explained she was confident she may not see anything but then she did and after that she done the biopsy said I had done well and left she didn't really discuss anything with me I felt like she was in a rush or maybe she didn't want to say anything at the time.

when a nurse spoke to me about my LLETZ appointment she explained the cervix was noted as bulky last time and this may effect treatment being done awake.

I'm really hoping I get a bit more of an explanation today from the doctor I'm in so much pain down the right side from my shoulder to bladder and all the right side inside down below is throbbing maybe it's more to do with nerves and pressure or could be to do with something completely irrelevant to this.

I tend to forget all my symptoms concerning me when I'm there and I just say yes no and leave it's the anxiety of it all I think.

im confident now though it's not as bad as I imagined so fingers crossed I'm in and out.

thanktou again for replying. I did contact a nurse the other day I found her really helpful and reassuring and I've saved the number for future reference cancer research is so underrated sometimes by people who don't realise how vital and helpful you are to those who really need it.

  • I have undergone the LLETZ treatment everything went ok they had to take more away than planned to make sure all the cells were taken just to wait for the results now and plan from there.

    yhankyou for your support.
