Hi all,
I just wondered if anyone else had something similar happen. I attended the breast clinic last Friday within the 2 week wait after going to my GP with a lump I'd found. The consultant was quite sure it felt like a Fibroadenoma and the ultrasound technician also thought so, but because it is fairly big they still wanted to take a biopsy. When I left the clinic I asked the ultrasound person how I'd be contacted cause we recently moved, and I was worried any letter might be sent to the wrong address. She said they say 7-10 days but is often earlier, they discuss results in their MDT meeting on Wednesday and I should only expect a letter. Unless something is unusual with the biopsy results or if I have to go back for more tests, then they might ring on Wednesday. So I said "ok so Wednesday is the day to look out for, if there was anything. So if I don't get a phone call on Wednesday, it's a good sign". And she went "yep. But I wouldn't worry too much about it, it's very unlikely."
However, now I've got a call saying they've booked me in for a telephone consultation on Wednesday after their MDT. I'm about 99% sure that this was just very unfortunate communication with regards to what happens after appointments that strongly suggest the lump is benign, but a tiny bit of me has been caught off guard after what they said.
Do you know if they just ring everybody that has attended that week and the ultrasound person was just wrong?
Thanks a lot for any advice, I realise I could also just wait until tomorrow, but you know what it's like sometimes...
