esophagus

Hi

I was diagnosed with Barrett's esophagus 10 year ago I know the likely hood for cancer is more so than somebody without Barrett's

so in that time I have not I even been called for the camera even though it's supposed to happen yearly.

6 weeks ago I started experiencing dizziness to the point I couldn't get out of bed for a few days I got a gp appointment and he mentioned inner ear no referral was made but meds was giving anymore issues to go back still experiencing the dizziness I then began to have a very bitter taste in my mouth obviously acid then the pain came along with struggling to eat and drink.
I made a gp appointment and by then I started to pass blood so when I got to the doctor he would only deal with the bleeding side ( said it was a burst pile ) no referral made again and had to book another appointment for the difficulty in eating and drinking.
the appointment came and by this point I hadnt eating for 7days odd sip of water in that time very weak.

I was finally referred to urgent 2 week referral but decided to go private in the mean time to put my mind at ease ( that was a waste of time could t tell me anything didn't speculate ect)

anyway my appointment is today for the camera

Im so weak and feel dehydrated

I can't eat it feels like it's getting stuck and associated with pain

I have pain in my stomach

exsessive burping

my mouth is all broke out with the acid

my esophagus hurts and throat

I could go on but today is the day

has anyone else experienced any of this?
mum hopeful for good news but I know the risk factor and symptoms outweigh

And help advice would be appreciated

  • Hi Male62,

I'm sorry to hear about the issues you've been experiencing recently. It's good to hear you had an appointment to find out more about this. I'm sure this will give you some answers as well as an opportunity to talk things through with a doctor/specialist.

I hope things went well on Tuesday and that you get the information you need soon.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
