I seen my gp yesterday after finding a golf ball sized lump in my right breast Friday night. They referred me to the breast clinic and I've just booked my appointment which will be next Wednesday morning, so 8 days from now.
Im 27 so have never had a mammogram, my mum has had breast cancer couple of years ago and they found the lump on the day of her first ever routine mammogram and took a biopsy, im presuming due to size they'll do a biopsy. But when will I find out the results? As I understand they'll likely be unable to say anything on the day of the appointment with 100% certainty but will they tell me there and then if they suspect a possibility of it being the dreaded c word?
im a bit weird and in all honesty I'd feel more at ease if they told me there's a chance it's cancer rather than purposely being told it's probably nothing just to save my worrying because that will actually make me worry more if I'm honest!
Also is there anything I should expect before appointment?
thank you
