Lump in breast

Hi everyone,

I've had what I think is a lump in my breast for a few years, I've had it examined twice and on both occasions doctors have said it's just my glands and that my boobs are very glandular and that the lump is nothing to worry about. I can still feel the big lump in my left breast (it's not gotten bigger or smaller) and I'm really worried about it. I have a GP appointment on Thursday to get it checked out again. I'm 26 years old and feel doctors are maybe being dismissive because I'm young but I could be wrong! The lump sort of feels like a flat pebble.

I have bad health anxiety and often resort to dr google when I'm feeling un well which doctors say isn't helpful!

I have been reading through various forums on here and everyone seems so lovely and supportive. Hoping to find people on here who may be in a similar situation to me or can help me stay positive as I know I won't sleep or eat properly until I have results.

Thanks for taking the time to read my post! X

  • Hi Gracie,

Thought I would give you an update - all is good! I couldn't stand the wait for a breast clinic appointment with NHS as I have really bad health anxiety and get myself worked up so I booked myself in with a private breast clinic yesterday and was seen today. The consultant felt my boob and agreed there was something there but said she wasn't worried about it as it felt like prominent breast tissue. She asked if I wanted to go to ultrasound to put my mind at rest and I said yes - got the ultrasound and the dr spent a while looking and was pressing keys on the keyboard as if he was taking a screenshot or something which made me panic and I thought he had found something but he just likes to be very thorough and said he could only see breast tissue on the ultrasound so concluded I just have prominent breast tissue in an area in my left breast! He said with younger patients it's really common to have a cysts or a fibroadenoma - both are harmless and these are what lumps are most likely to be at this age :)

I know what it's like to get yourself in a panic when something goes wrong with your help so here to talk if you need to :) xx
