Uterus cancer symptoms/advice

Hi everyone,

I'll try to make this as short as possible, but im wondering what your symptoms were with uterine cancer?

I have a history of ovarian cysts so I'm used to having a whole host of symptoms and pain that comes with them. However, the last couple of weeks I've been worse than usual so booked an appointment with my GP who has said my symptoms are making her believe I might have uterine cancer. Of course I know this may well not be the case, but im wondering what symptoms other people had because I'm convinced it's just my cysts playing up. She's put in for an urgent referral for an ultrasound so I'm just waiting for the appointment to come through.

My symptoms are:

Pelvic pain (sometimes located on either the left or right side, sometimes all over). Shooting pains from lower pelvis up to behind my belly button. Diarrhoea and constipation. Rarely feel hungry. Get full quickly when I eat. Sometimes it hurts when I go to the toilet. The last couple of months of I had some spotting between my periods (but nothing during this month so far). Last month I had blood streaked in my discharge for 2 or 3 days. Nausea. Lower back pain. When I have pelvic pain I get pain in my groin/upper thigh area which can make it uncomfortable to walk.

It seems that a lot of my symptoms come and go rather than be constant.

Thank you for any help or words of wisdom you can offer.

  • Hi,

Thank you for responding! And I'm so glad your results were fine for you and that they are helping with everything else. It's quite nerve-wracking isn't it.

I had my appointment with a gynaecologist this morning. No scan was done, which I found odd since that's what my referral was for. He did an internal examination and said he could feel a lump in my womb, but is fairly certain that it isn't cancer so decided there was no need to do further tests. I feel like I'm supposed to be relieved but I actually feel more on edge! I would have preferred an ultrasound just to confirm his beliefs and put my mind at ease.

I'm not sure what to do now.
