Hi I think the best thing you can do is to get a go appointment and see what the go says. I had a mole Looked at by the gp on Monday and have been referred to dermatology. So just waiting for appointment to come through. It's the waiting that causes the worry and anxiety. Hoping for the best and wish you all the best too. 

If it helps I recently saw a dermatologist about a mole that had appeared on my face that I was concerned about as it was getting bigger.  It turned out to be a Seborrheic keratosis which shows how not everything is a mole!!  Whislt there I asked if she could look at my back as I live alone and thought it a good opportunity as I can't see my back.  One right in the middle ended up a bit of a cause for concern so they cut it out there and then and sent it off.  Turned out to be a Dysplastic naevus which was benign but apparently they can have some "potential" so it was good that it was removed.  I was also concerned about a tan/brown discolouring on my toe nail which Doctor Google panicked me about but the dermatologist said that was just a fungal infection.  Basically what I am saying is the only person who can judge is a dermatologist so  I would suggest seeing your GP for an appointment and hopefully put your mind at rest.

Your photo has been removed as it goes against the forum T & C's. The main reason for this is because no one on here, not even the nurses, can tell if a mole looks cancerous. A dermatologist needs to look at it through a dermascope for warning signs but even then, only a biopsy can 100% tell if it's malignant or not.

Any mole that worries a patient should be checked out by their GP so it's good your going to make an appointment. They may do a telephone appointment so take some photos of the mole in case they want them forwarding by email. They will be able to tell if the mole has any warning signs as per the ABCDE guidelines & if they think it needs further examination they will either ask to see you face to face, forward the photos for a dermatologist to examine them or make you a referral to see a dermatologist.
