Lymph node worries

Hi i'm a 20 year old male, about a week ago i suddenly got swollen lymph which i've had before, but this time I didn't have any sickness symptoms so no cough, cold, sore throat, nothing. The only thing i could think of is i have a tooth infection because 2 weeks ago i was tired and forgot to brush my teeth at night and i woke up to my bottom gum in front of tongue swollen on the right side, It hurt for a little bit but it stopped and its still swollen a 2 weeks later and i'm thinking that might of caused it. The thing i'm really worried about is after the lymph nodes swelling under my jaw went down, the right one for some reason had a very bumpy side like something grew on it a few days ago. They are both moevable and there isn't any pain but the right one really worries me because its like something bumpy has grew on it. I have a blood test on the 6th of September to see if there is anything wrong but i'm really scared it might be some sort of lymph node cancer or lymphoma and by the time i get my blood test it would have spread and its too late, i tried googling for anything like it and found nothing at all about what im experiencing.  i've had a really bad health anxiety in the past months as well.

  • Hello Jake72926

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently had some health concerns. It's good to hear that you've already been in touch with your GP and that you have some blood tests arranged for a few weeks time.

We know that waiting for tests and results can be a worrying time. Please do try to avoid using Google to search for information as this will only increase your anxiety. In the meantime, you might find it helpful to have a look at the NHS website for tips and advice about managing health anxiety

I hope that you have some answers and reassurance soon.

    Best wishes,
