Potential Stomach Cancer

Hi All.

Looking for some advice if possible because I'm falling apart quite literally. I've been unwell on and off the last few months. I've always had stomach issues and diagnosed with GERD and inflammation of stomach lining a few years back.

Fast forward to the past couple of months more so the past few weeks. I've lost a stone, have no appetite, sharp pains at top of my stomach radiating through to my back, hoarse throat, heart-stomach palpitations and bad breath. My toilet habits have also got a bit concerning with loose stools. (Sorry TMI).

I've been back and forth with GP and have been referred for a Endoscope and changed my anti acids. I've been waiting 6 weeks and I've had nothing so far even though it was marked as urgent so I've went private and will see the consultant next week.

I'm terrified. I know something is wrong, I've always had stomach issues but nothing this extreme.

Has anyone had similar symptoms and its not been terrible news? I'm a 37 year old female with a 2 year old son and I'm terrified. Any information anyone can share would be greatly appreciated   xx

  • Thank you for the reply blueangel. I've had H.pylori 3 times. They haven't even tested me for it this time as they said it will be checked at Endoscope. I have been tested in the past for gallstones but all clear but that was a year and a half ago.

Did you lose weight? Do you still suffer from the issues? I think that's the most worrying thing for me. I like food and to have no appetite is concerning. I am currently going through a diagnosis for Addisons disease (completey different story) GP says it could be linked to that but doesn't know.

My referral was urgent but that was 6-7 weeks ago I know the NHS is backed up but I feel as if I'm just being left.

Thank you for replying. I'm really at my wits end and feel as if my family are bearing the brunt of what's going. Xx

  • Thank you. The Addisons was a complete side swerve as that got flagged in the multiple blood tests I've had over the past few weeks I'm awaiting to see the endocrinologist.

I will try that as I have my referral letter so they might be able to shed some light on where my appointment is.

I hope it is h.pylori and it can be fixed or a flare up of GERD. You know when you have a gut feeling something isn't right? That's how I feel at the moment.

I'm trying to look at the logical stuff before worrying so it's good to hear that people with similar symptoms have been able to clear it eventually xx

  • Thank you blueangel. I appreciate your advice and will keep you posted xx

  • I feel exactly the same ie being left.

I've been going through tests since the beginning of May..

No one has spoken to me.

Wishing you all the best x

  • All Fallmare I really feel for you. I know exactly how you feel. Sending you lots of positive thoughts . It's so hard when we know something is wrong but you're stuck in limbo. Is it stomach issues you're having too?

It's became apparent to me the last couple of weeks how backed up the NHS is and its worrying and frightning to think of the backlog. My referral was made on the 6th of July and was marked as urgent and I still haven't had anything. Its unbelievable. My GP can't do any more than what has been done so I suppose it's a waiting game until next Friday at the private consultation. He did advise me if it got that bad to go to A&E ( I really hope it doesn't come to that).

Thanks for replying and I'm here to chat xx
