HPV Positive for consecutive three years -

Hey there,

I have been having yearly smears due to testing positive to for HPV. This is my third year testing positive, although I have finally been referred to have investigations with colonoscopy now, I am still very worried and confused. I haven't had sex since 2016, so my thinking is if I caught HPV then, then why hasn't my body or immune system cleared it up? I have spoken to the nurse, but she wasn't that helpful in giving advice on why. My letter does say no abnormalities found, which is so confusing. Any help or advice would be much appreciated. I don't know what to think!
