Worried

Hi,

I'm 24 and have my ultrasound tomorrow after being referred by the GP under the two week rule.

I've found lumps in the past which have been checked by the GP and they've told me not to worry. About 6 weeks ago I found a new lump which is hard and round, I also feel as though a lump that was already there has changed in shape and size (feels a bit squashed and a bit larger).

I was delayed in getting things checked as I had to isolate with COVID, but when I did the GP said come back if it hasn't gone away after my cycle, but I just have a feeling something isn't right so I called back and said I wasn't happy after 2 weeks and they referred me. I've also been experiencing a new upper back pain, which has got me significantly more worried. It fluctuates between a full ache and sharp stabbing pains.

I feel like I'm making a big deal out of what is most likely nothing to worry about, but truth be told I am terrified.

I understand the sonographer will be able to indicate some level of results during the scan, but if they are concerned does anyone know how quickly I can get biopsies/further apts? Is it quick or is there usually a wait?

Thank you. (As you can tell I'm not getting much sleep!)

  • Hello Liv9876

I saw from your post that you were due to have an ultrasound today on a lump that you've recently noticed. I hope that the sonographer was able to give you some reassurance at your appointment today?

Do let us know how you got on if you're able to.

    Best wishes,
