Hi,

You will get an appointment letter in the post unless they get a cancellation for within a couple of days & then they ring patients on the list to see who can make it in at short notice. 

Please try to focus on other things to get through the wait as it will help distract your thoughts, at least for a short while. Going through this type of journey means finding a way to get through the waiting periods is actually more important than the appointments and results, as the stress and anxiety can have a more debilitating effect on your health & you need to keep healthy and strong to see you through it all.

I am in a similar siutation to you, perhaps a few weeks ahead of you.  I went to the GP who referred me and I received a letter in the post.  the appointment was for about two weeks later Mid July. I saw a plastic surgeon who then scheduled me in to do an excision and biopsy and mine looked suspious.  I have now had that done (monday).  It was very straightforward but now anxious and waiting the results which wil be 4 - 6 weeks.  I am worrying myself sick always think the worst. I work in a school and due to return in. acouple of weeks and not sure how I can focus.

Thanks I know I need to try and relax I just can't believe how hard that is to do. I have tons of schooL work to do (school teacher) but finding it difficult to concentrate

Had a text from the doctors saying they've tried booking appointment but none available and I should hear from the hospital by Monday and if I don't then to ring the hospital. It's all becoming real and feel sick with worry

I am with you on that journey.  Hopefully when you get there it wont be too bad.  I saw a plastic surgeon but each time I saw him, he kept changing his ming on what he thought it was so that has jus added to my anxiety.  GP put me on Prozac for a couple of weeks awaiting my results now.

I have to say alot of them are benign when I have spoken to others.  I also have sebechoic keratosis as well which is harmless but looks like horrible moles on my back, these itch too.  Did the doctor think it could be that? It is very common.  i had a couple of these removed too.  They shave them off.

My two lesions I had removed, one was on my shoulder and one was on my forehead.  They were not really like moles, they were skin colour, they did not itch and the one on my head I think I have had for at least 3 years but dont think it changed in size or anything but he wanted to remove it.

The waiting game is awful. I am having anxiety attacks at the thought of going back to school in this state. Hopefully the prozac will calm me down

Hi think I'm going to end up going to the doctors next week due to the anxiety. I still haven't been into school to sort my classroom out which I need to do and my planning but I've lost all motivation. Good luck with your results I really hope they are negative. Just hoping they will give me an appointment to go in next week x

Same here.  I started on the prozac but they do have side effects.  I a having bad headaches with them but not got a review unitl after I am suppose to start back at school.

Struggling to get out of bed and get motivated.  trying to set myself some tasks each day..

Lost my appetite to on the prozac.  I could do with lossing half a stone but not this way...

Been my worst six weeks holiday ever.  Sure you feel the same too.

Hi there, I I thought I do you a reply.. My mum had one of these  and  the positive  thing was she had it removed and that was it... she's been ok for four years now, I think anxiety prayers a big role in this what if scenario) I'm exactly the same I always think negative instead of positive, It's crazy how our mind works,  but trust me, you will get throw this.  Normal fast track appointment is by post).  Normally same day or a couples of days).  But please don't worry if you need someone to talk to feel free to message.
