How did you get your biopsy results?

Hi,

I had a biopsy a week ago, and they said it would take up to 4 weeks for the results, but they didn't say how I would get them. (I don't have an appointment booked)

Did you get yours by phone call, a letter, or asked to book an appointment to see someone?

Hi Beth,
I was told at the time they will either be results via phonecall or a letter, OR it'll be an appointment. So I'm sitting not knowing whether to rush to check the post or keep my phone on loud at work.
Makes it a tad more stressful doesn't it?!

I can only comment on my experience with dermatology/oncology (melanoma). Over the many years (Stage 1 and then Stage 3) all my biopsy results have been given at a face to face appointment. Many consultants prefer to give results, whether good or bad, this way, especially if they want to check the healing in any surgical procedure. The best way to approach what might happen is to expect either a letter or a phone call - these may be to be give you the results but expect them to probably be an appointment date. Good luck xx

A nurse rang me on a tuesday but when i said i was goin g to the hospital i Liverpool on the thursday she asked would i rather wait until then i said yes - this was 6 weeks after the eye biopsy

No mail the last 2 days for me. This is getting really difficult to wait!
I tried to ring outpatient today and ask how the results will come (and an idea of when) but it rang out like 6 times!
Feeling sick with it now!
