22 Lymphoma Scare??

I have been seen by multiple drs and a surgeon over the past 3 weeks regarding the swollen lymph nodes on my groin. After 3 full blood counts they've told me that I'm being referred to Heamotology and I also have a pelvic ultrasound tomorrow. I'm very tired. I'm on antibiotics to see if there's an infection that's causing the swollen lymph nodes, day 2 of the course and the swelling has not gone down. My drs don't believe there's an infection to treat as there's no signs of infection at all. My monocyte levels are doubled aswell as a lot of other things in my blood count that are above range or under range. No infection has come up from the blood counts that have been done. I saw a surgeon yesterday, he did an ultrasound scan on my lymph nodes and he fears lymphoma also. There hasn't been one dr who hasn't had this fear. I've asked if they worry about it being cancer and they've all said due to my age (22) and the fact there's no sign of infection that lymphoma is a definite possibility. I have my heamotology appointment on Tuesday. Just wondering if anyone has any advice on Q's to ask and what to expect? I believe they want to do a core biopsy among others I don't understand completely. Gotta be honest all of it's going in one ear out the other half the time because of how terrified I am. Only a month ago me and my partner started trying for a baby with the GPS full support and a week later it feels our dreams were crushed. I'm terrified I'm never going to be a mom...

  • Just wanted to say hello BD589 and I hope you're appointment goes ok tomorrow. It might help to write down any questions you might have and take them with you to the appointment. You can also take notes while you're there. It can be difficult to take it all in during appointments, but this might help you tick things off in your mind and feel more prepared for the next steps.

    I hope this helps,
