A few weeks ago I found a pea sized lump in my left breast. It caused me such anxiety to the point where I couldn't eat or sleep. I was referred for an ultrasound where the radiologist confirmed it was a swollen lymph node. She was chirpy and convinced it was nothing to worry about. I wasn't told of any further tests or treatment.
I'm now concerned why it would be enlarged and my health anxiety has ramped up again. I've been feeling very tired and run down (which I put down to the anxiety of the lump). Now today I'm feeling strangely itchy with no rash, which I now know is a symptom of lymphoma. I'm terrified! But I also know how powerful anxiety can be at making symptoms worse.
I've scheduled phone call with my GP on Thursday to talk to her about the results of the ultrasound. Should I request a blood test? Will that show up the potential of lymphoma? Are there any other tests I should ask for to put my mind at rest?
I also am aware that the covid vaccine can cause lymph node swelling, and it's on the same side I had the jab.
