Firstly, OMG I am already praying that you are going to get through this and between you and the medical experts you are going to be CURED of cancer. And cancer NEVER returns.
Secondly; I have to give one peice of advice and this is for you to RECORD every meeting with any of the MDT with or without their consent but ask them for permission first. If the answer is ''no", then choose another hospital in another town or city. Recording the events without their permission is NOT against the law and can be only for your own personal use but a Judge can order that your recordings be legally used in a court of law if deemed to be influential in your case, so don't worry about this.
Briefly: I have been wrongly diagnosed and I've HAD a life-changing operation and found out via the Pathologist's tests/results that I didn't have cancer in the 1st place! It was NOTHING! not even leukaplakia and not even SCC in Situ. IT WAS NOTHING! I explained over a 3-month period since the positive diagnosis that the tongue tumor/lesion was SHRINKING but my claims were deemed as dismissive and I was labelled as "Delusional and in Denial".
Fast-forward to 11 weeks AFTER the unneccesary operation to remove a third of my tongue (I am a singer entertainer BTW)....the Path-Lab results say it is NOT CANCER! AND THE 'LESION' HAS BEEN DOWNGRADED FROM A T3 TO A T1. AND THAT IS NOW DEEMED TO BE NOT HPV-RELATED!!
I'd been told at the Maxillo Ward that "You've got this SCC cancer due to giving oral sex". I was then told in the NEXT sentence that; "THE CANCER HAS PROBABLY ALREADY GONE STRAIGHT TO YOUR LUNGS", adding; "NO YOU WOULDN'T BE AWARE OF THE LUNG CANCER". This all hapoened on the 1st MDT meeting on diagnosis day regs the results of the biopsy. There were a room full of Drs and other people, it was a horrible 30mins. I was told of Palliative Care and flaps, reconstructions, jaw cut open, breathing tubes, feeding tubes, being 3 times more likely to die during the operatiion and 6 times more at risk from dying from pneumonia post-op (coz of being a smoker). Told of chronic shoulder problems and lymph drainage problems from post-op neck dissections, and droopy mouth permanent disfigurement and restricted head movement because they had to sever the spinal accessory nerve during the operation. Maps and phone numbers given to me for Hospital where folk go to die. Hospice phone numbers & directions. Names & numbers of Radiologists and Chemotherapy details along with the MAD effects this treatment can bring to a person.
THEN I FIND OUT 2 WEEKS AFTER THE OPERATION THAT, "GOOD NEWS, THEY'VE FOUND NOTHING" (QUOTE). But they've still put me onto 4-monthly ultrasound check-up's and I've NO IDEA WHY they've chosen to do this? Record all of your sessions and all phone calls.
