Feacal Calprotectin Content Results

Hi

I've done that thing what we all tell everyone not to do and fell down a Google hole!

So Ive never had stomach issues, but since May of this year Ive been having at some points, really bad pains (feels like bad trapped wind type cramps). Ive lost control over my bowels twice in this period of time as well and other times it feels as if I'm not finished... I had three lots of bloods done that all came back negative so I ended up doing a stool sample. This has come back abnormal "Feacal Calprotectin Content > 6000ug/g [<50.0] Consistant with active bowel inflamation suggest urgent gastro referral" What has come back on my Doctors Surgery online portal. I've been advised that I will need a colonascapy and should have someone call me within the next four weeks to give me a date. The really bad cramps seemed to have eased off so I also feel in two minds about canclling as I dont want to feel silly or like I'm waiting anyones time especially over te year the NHS has had.

No doctoe or consulatat has spoken to me since my orginal telephone appotment where he just advised bloods and a stool. I have no idea what they're looking for or why Ive been booked in. So here I am. Asking to see if anyone else had had anything like this or results so high?

Thank you.
