I think I may have lymphoma but not being taken seriously?

Please someone help...

Almost a year  ago I was admitted into hospital after finding out I have ITP (low platelet count).

In the coming months I was treated and was told it may not ever come back after getting back to a safe level.
Now almost a year on, I have had 3 hospital admissions with dangerously low platelet counts, one round of rituximab treatment which has not worked and a possible diagnosis of Lupus!

Right at the very beginning I was told of the possibilies that I could have Lymphoma, however this was ruled out, unsure why as no tests had been done to rule this out (as far as I am aware)

I have had many times where my red and white blood cells have not been "normal" and have many of the symptoms of lymphoma.

fatigue

itchy skin

swelling feet

numbness In hands

red patches of skin

shortness of breath

and now this weekend I have found a lump in my groin.

I feel as though I don't get taken seriously when I raise the concerns about my condition and testing, but then a part of me is slightly worried that maybe I am a little obsessed with my health now, with all that has happened in a short space of time.

I hate to feel as though no one is listening or taking me seriously. But I also worry that maybe my anxiety is getting the better of me.

I am due to speak to the specialist next week, hoping someone may be able to give me some much needed advice or support beforehand.

sorry to rant.

  • Hi.
I've got Hodgkin's lymphoma. One thing I've learnt during my experience with this is that you should never feel like your going over the top when it comes to your health. If you can check it out and make sure it's nothing to worry about, why not? I wouldn't worry too much until you speak to your specialist, it should clear things up. Ask any questions you have and don't feel like it's too much, it's better than sitting worrying because you don't know. It's their job to make sure you understand. Maybe a biopsy could be done to determine what it is? Don't stress yourself reading a bunch of information, I didn't until I was 100% what it was. It just causes unwanted stress. But please, if you feel unsure or concerned then go and do something to help. The is someone out there who can help you if you need it. Go with your gut feeling because you know yourself better than anyone. Wishing you all the best.
