Worrying MRI

I started having seizures in March this year, I've had sleep paralysis for 4+ years and I've also experienced numbness, lack of speech and pins and needles in my limbs. I have seen a neurologist who recommended an MRI to be safe. The mri has now come back and my doctor told me there was something abnormal in the white matter. He has sent my mri to the neurologist to check over, but he thinks I might need an mri with contrast to confirm what it is. It's hard not to worry however I have seen information on the NHS website. Has anyone experience a similar situation?

    Hi Sophiesomething,

A very warm welcome to our forum. I am sorry to hear about your symptoms and the obvious worry that this is causing. It sounds as if your GP is doing the right thing to ensure that there is nothing untoward here. Have you had any further word from the neurologist yet?

Many of us have had to have MRI with contrast to clarify findings on a previous MRI. Unfortunately outcomes vary so there is no way to predict what yours will be.

I do hope that all turns out well for you. Please keep in touch and let us know.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
