Freaking out lymph nodes

Hi Guys

I don't really know where else to ask. I've had a sore throat for a few months on my left side. This has recently subsided however my left lymph node in my neck is hard and not very mobile it was super painful and now only a little pain. Does anyone have any ideas? I am terrified I'm 24

  • Hi,

No one on here can diagnose the problem but my guess would be that your nodes were fighting an infection, especially with you having a persistent sore throat. When an infection goes it takes a while for swollen nodes to settle down. If it's causing you great anxiety, speak to your GP who will hopefully be able to calm your fears.

    Hi Positive,

A very warm welcome to our forum.

I can understand your fear, but agree with all that Angie has said, We get reactive nodes to any infection, but these usually settle down after the infection passes, although this can take some time. In a few cases they never fully settle but don't indicate anything untoward.

Have a word with your GP just to put your mind to rest and please let us know how you get on.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi Jolamine

So sorry to jump on someone elses post but I have sent you a friend request as you seem to know so much about DCIS.  I am super anxious and if I were able to chat with you, I know you would calm my nerves.

    Again, so sorry to intervene.
