Hi, I was wondering if anyone had a similar experience or might just have some comments about the below. My husband recently noticed that one tonsil larger than the other. GP done a fast track to ENT straight away for a potential cancer. ENT looked for all like 5 seconds into the throat and said need to remove the tonsils to do a biopsy, so the tonsillectomy is now scheduled in 2 weeks time.
We were a bit surprised that no other tests at all were done or even suggested... Is it a good or a bad sign? No other symptoms really present, although he says he is starting to notice discomfort in the throat from the enlarged tonsil but it was never sore in the first place.
He's 34yo and ENT said that there's always a small possibility it could be something bad - hence the need to remove the tonsils to check. The appointment itself was super fast, 5min if that, didn't even have time really to ask many questions.
Of course, Dr Google is not helpful...
