Terrified - Referral

I'm sorry if I'm posting in the wrong place but I have been feeling so stressed.

I noticed a swollen lymph node on the right hand side of my neck a while back. I've been feeling completely well and healthy, no recent infections that I can think of. I visited my GP who said that the lump did feel like a lymph node, and she has referred me on the urgent referral scheme to an ENT clinic for an ultrasound and possible biopsy.

I have of course been googling and convinced myself that this is Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I am 23, and have an autoimmune disease, putting me at higher risk.

I haven't recieved my referral appointment yet and I am just stressing myself out so much anxiously waiting to be seen, and I know it will be an even more anxious wait to then get any results. I've had such a tough year, and things were finally starting to look up for me, and now this

I'd be so grateful to hear of anybody's experiences, who have gone through something similar!

  • Hello

I have a similar story. Firstly I have had a few lymph nodes enlarge due to vaccine but that is another story! All fine though.

Because I am aware of the lumps I found another in my neck this time at the front. The GP said to me it wasn't a lymph node and would need another scan.

anyway, I paid to go private in the end as I just couldn't take anymore. The lump I can feel is apparently thyroid tissue that has been there a long time un noticed and it was from when I was very young and when the thyroid drops when I grew it left that behind.

So just wanted to say that I know we always panic and think of the worst, I do! It isn't always the case but best to get things always checked xx
