Just wanted to say hi and let you know you're not alone.

I am currently going through a similar thing. They found a 5cm mass on my right ovary, subsequent CA125 was high and I was referred on the 2WW cancer pathway.

Since then I have seen a Consultant, had an MRI and then further blood tests a CT and a chest xray. I'm waiting now for the results of the CT and Chest xray and the MDT. They get held on a Wednesday (today) so I will chase tomorrow if no phone call. I'm thinking they may not have all the results back yet, but I just need to know as all this waiting is really having an affect on me.

I'm so sorry to hear you are also going through this, it's awful.  The MDT have met to discuss my case and referred me for an urgent MRI......which means more waiting.

Not sure about you but I would cope better if I knew exactly what I was dealing with.....the waiting is horrific and not knowing is the worst feeling in the world.

I really hope you get your results as soon as possible and that it will be a positive outcome. Xx

Hi ladies I have been going through an urgent referral to gynaecology aswell, I was having lower left hand side pain and have a history of cysts on my ovaries, I had 2 large benign dermoids removed 4 years ago.  My GP quickly ordered a CA125 test to check for tumours.  These came back high at 125.  My GP sent on a 2 week urgent referral.  At this referral the gynaecologist performed a ultrasound and couldn't see anything on my left  ovary but something suspicious on my right.  He red flagged me for an urgent MRI, I had this the week after my ultrasound and honestly my whole life went on hold.  I was so distressed thinking I'd cancer that my GP had to prescribe me anxiety medication.  I just had a telephone call today with my consultant, who is also an gynaecology oncologist.  He told me that my MRI was all good.  The suspicious element to my right ovary showed nothing suspicious or worrying, infact he said that after my previous surgery years ago this is just how my ovary now presents.  He said I also have a 2cm simple cyst on my left ovary, but that should be fine.  He said there is nothing to say there is any miligancy on any ovary.  I am booked I for another ca125 test for next week.  If it's still elevated he will investigate it more.  A high CA125 can be elevated for many reasons.  I was on the last day of my period, that could be why mine was raised.  I just wanted to let you know that a high CA125 and something suspicious on a scan doesn't always mean cancer.  

It's so hard not to worry, it's automatic, we can't help it.  I googled everything trying to predict my outcome.  Even after my consultant telling me that the mri has not shown up anything of concern I'm now worried that they have missed something.

Thank you, I agree and wish they would update and tell me exactly what they were doing and why, also how I would be contacted. All this waiting in the dark is so worrying and has an affect on mental health doesn't it.

I'm currently off work as can't cope with it alongside the worry. I support around 30 vulnerable people and don't feel I have enough to give at the moment. 

I called the Consultant's secretary yesterday and left a message asking for a call back, will be trying again today as I just want some timescales.

I have made a mental note to ask more questions going forward especially with how things will be communicated.

I'm not doing too bad thanks.

I saw the consultant last Tuesday and the good news is that if it is cancer then there is no spread at all. Both of my masses have grown in the last 6 weeks and he says this is all pushing my bowls up which has been causing the swelling.

I am having a full abdominal hysterectomy, removal of ovaries/tubes and omentum tomorrow. They will check a frozen section whilst I'm under and if this indicates cancer he will also remove lymph nodes and carry out a washing. I'm still trying to get my head around the fact I'm having major surgery tomorrow.
