Waiting for biopsy results.

Hi every 1 ive just found this site,im 50years old perimenapausal went 11months without a period only 2 have the worst 1 i have ever had my doctors sent me 4 a hyperoscopy on the 19th july,i was told i had no sign of polops or cysts but my womb lining was 24.9mm im a bit worried as i wasnt told what they are looking for.im hopeing some 1 will no.im getting very nervous as everything ive read is pointing 2 uterine cancer.

  • I've had irregular periods for years, started on Metformin in September for Type 2 diabetes and started bleeding heavily that day. Bled continuously for 252 days but had no pain, no bloating, nothing unusual other than the bleeding and clots.

First ultrasound came back with thickened lining (22mm) but consultant said this wasn't unusual pre menopause. Second ultrasound came back normal. However, they misread the ultrasounds and mistook the polyp for my womb cavity it was that large.

  • My Mum had endometrial cancer three years ago (so post-menopause) but unfortunately, she's not offered much advice or support as mine is only pre-cancerous and my Dad died 4 months after her hysterectomy which has sent her a bit selfish.

Ive had to have a repeat blood test today due to a possible problem with immunoglobulins and wonder if the two are linked?!

At least with inner gynae issues, a hysterectomy seems to solve a lot of problems.

  • Yes, my Mum had a complete hysterectomy (ovaries and tubes too and I think the cervix). She had the op done by assisted robot and was back at work within weeks and didn't need chemo or radiation or anything.

Starting my hormone treatment today until I get my referral apppintment through

  • I got my results over the phone from the consultant that carried out the hysteroscopy and biopsy and then my GP rang me a few days later to confirm eveeything. It took 6 weeks to get my results and that's pre-cancerous cells. My Mum got her results in a matter of days and was asked to go to the hospital.

Still waiting for the letter as I want to read what it says

  • Yes, it was all done over the phone and wasn't expecting anything other than good news since it was 6 weeks ‍♀️

  • I've been referred to Oncology and Gynaecology at my local hospital to discuss next steps and chances of it growing back, family history, whether we have completed our family etc.
I'm on hormone therapy now until I can be seen and will have to see what options I have/are given to me.
