Breast clinic referral

Hi there, I found a lump above my left nipple on Thursday and went straight to my GP (first time I had seen this GP) I have to say she wasn't the most helpful, I had told her on the phone I thought it was pea sized however when I went in and she examined me she said she could clearly feel the lump which was much larger than I had thought, said she would refer me to the breast clinic who would be able to tell me if it was cancerous, told me it would take up to 4 weeks for my appointment and sent me on my way! I can't believe how matter of fact she was and I was probably in and out of that appointment in under 5 minutes, the surgery was empty due to COVID so it's not like she had patients waiting.  Has anyone else experienced this when getting a breast lump checked? I'm a bit overwhelmed at the lack of empathy in such a scary situation
