Hi I’m Linda just joined!

I had a biopsy on the 27.7.2021 Wednesday. I had a phone call from the hosptial today 30.07.2021 to let me no my consultant was going to phone me on Friday 8.08.2021 and not to be alarmed I'm just worried to hear off them on the 2nd day of the biopsy but still have to wait a week for the phone consultation anybody else heard of this before Thank you.

    Positives.... 'don't be alarmed'.

    Not sure where the biopsy was from but I once had womb biopsies taken and was given an appointment for 2 weeks later for the results. Got a phone call a couple of days later from a 'specialist nurse' (alarm bells I thought as I've had a different cancer and you get a specialist nurse). Was asked to go in the morning after, I said it's bad news then and she said she couldn't discuss it over the phone. I was in a right mess, anxiety wreck! went for the appointment the next day in tears and they had got me back to say the biopsies were fine and they wanted me to have a camera test under GA to be 100% sure everything was fine.

    I don't know why they always seem to do things this way and put you through hell.

    Hi Linda,

    A very warm welcome to our forum. Most people end up waiting between 1-2 weeks before they get their biopsy results.

     Some clinics will give you a return appointment at the time of your biopsy, whilst others will contact you nearer the time your biopsy is due back. There are different protocols from one centre to the next, but this does not signify any difference in the outcomes, so there is nothing for you to worry about.

    I sincerely hope that you get the outcome you hope for on Friday 8th. Please let us know how it goes and remember that we are always here for you.
