Lumps in lymph nodes

Ive got an phone call appointment booked for friday 6th ,as they dont let people in due to corona over the lump ive discovered only a few days ago on left side collarbone . The lump is movable and feels squishy but near two years ago i went to the docs 2 or three times over a hard lump on right side of my neck ,doc said he wasnt concerned and blood tests came back normal and ent didnt want to investigate further . Saod it wpuld go away on its own , which it hasnt . And now the one in my collerbone . I suffer frm anxiety and this is putting me mad . Im terrified that its cancer i have 4 small kids and im 29 the lump on my collarbone is slightly visible from the outside aswell . My brain goes to worse case scenario .i  just need to get tested to put my mind at ease but the system is slow and doc has to be concerned . I think i just wamted to come on here to see what other people think ,thanks for reading x

  • Hello Cookie29,

If you are worried about this lump on your collarbone, do give your doctor a call. Other members of our forum have reported having a lump on their collarbone following their coronavirus vaccine so this is something also to take into account that it may be a side effect of the vaccine. Your doctor will be best placed to tell you whether this is the case or not so the best thing to do is to get in touch with your GP.

Best of luck with your appointment and best wishes,

  • Thanks so much for reply i have recently had my vaccine but im going to get it checked just to be safe  im just very anxious. As ive had the other one for about 2 years now .i did not know that to be a side affect of the vaccine as it dosnt state it . I just want to rule out anything sinister . My apps friday x

  • Hello

I have gone through the same and mine was vaccine related. I had nodes above collarbone. There are lots of threads on this forum (one with about 250 replies) for people who have the same. Of course best to get checked but you might feel some comfort.

  • Thanks so much for reply nat , yes im going to get it checked as i have one on right side neck under the ear had it about 2 years doc wasnt concerned then . But i just want to make sure ,i couldve had it longer but i only discovered it last week and its took me over a week to get an appointment so fingers crossed he pays attention and gives me a rough guess of whats going on x

  • Hello

it is always better to get checked, I would say if you have had that for a while and no other symptoms etc then that is a positive sign.

I have had NHS scans and a private scan and both have told me there and then what it is.

It could be that the vaccine has made it bigger? Also, sometimes if they have raised for illness in the past sometimes they never go down.

i had the AZ vaccine and when my first node popped out I was so upset and didn't link to vaccine, also the GP didn't help when he said no the vaccine wouldn't cause this, I think they are worried to say anything negative about the vaccine. The scan guy said they have had so many people in for this.

keep us updated! Also worth asking for bloods to be done too!

  • Me again, enlarged lymph nodes is also now stated as a side effect of the vaccine (I think it always has been?) it is one of the uncommon ones.
