The wait

Hey everyone,

Im new here. So i am 32 and a mam of 3 kids and my latest smear showed HPV anf abnormal  cells so i wad referred for a colposcopy and they did a biopsy. 3 weeks after that got a letter to say they were CIN3 and needed burning off. So I went up to get them burned away and the doctor instead did a lletz procedure where they scrapped them away and also took a little piece of cervix. They are been sent off for testing and will take 6 weeks for results i never asked enough questions as to why they are going getting tested. The wait is killing me.

  • Hi Jenbar

The LLETZ treatment is burning off the cells. It is standard for the samples to be sent to pathology for testing afterwards to ensure that there is nothing more sinister there and to ensure that they have removed all of the abnormal cells. I appreciate that the waiting is difficult, but CIN3 is not cancer and hopefully the resting will show that everything is now gone. Good luck!
