Hi,

Yes it's normal and no, it doesn't mean bad news. Results used to take about 2 weeks but due to Covid it's taking anything up to 8 weeks I'm afraid. All you can do is distract yourself by keeping busy and focus on the fact that you have a 75% chance of the results being fine. The waiting is the hardest part of all this so try to take time out to care for yourself. Good luck and please let us know how you get on.

Thank you for your reply i have gt myself more worked up as everything I find on dr Google indicates long time for results means the worst just feeling very anxious atm

Hi Jane,

Don't read Google - it's either wrong or out of date information. Only websites like this one, Macmillan or the British Association of Dermatologists website are the best to research. Several New Zealand, Australian and American ones are good too but their timescales and treatment plans may vary from the NHS so bear that in mind.
