Post menopause bleeding

Hi I'm 48 and have been post menopausal for five years 3 weeks ago I had a heavy period lasted for 5 days then brown spotting since I am on continuous hrt gel and progesterone tablet's I had an examination yesterday limited as my vagina was tender examination was painful as I've not been sexually active in a very long time the Dr reckons that it could have been my ovaries deciding to come back to life for a one off I'm having a scan done in a couple of weeks this is my 3rd one I've had a 6 mm lining about 8 years ago and an alledged polyp and a tiny fibroid I'm thinking that my ovaries coming out for a party after 5 years seems a bit of an excuse

    Hello Mcquick1, 

    I hope that the scan in a couple of weeks will shed some light on what is going on and why you have had this post menopausal bleeding. Try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be and hopefully you will get some definite answers soon. I hope you won't have to wait too long to have your scan and in the meantime, try to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious. 

    I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.
