Does BC pain come and go?

I've more or less become convinced myself that I have breast cancer. I'm 5 years post menopause, mid 50s. 14 months since last mammogram (which was clear).

Pain in one breast, quite severe at times, for last 3 weeks.  All day and all night, except, bizarrely, yesterday when I had almost 24 hours pain free!  It was almost bizarre, I've become almost used to it hurting.

But today it's back with a vengeance. It's so sore! I don't have any other symptoms.

Isn't it odd that it went away completely and has come back?

  • Hello Scottishmuppet,

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing pain in your breast and are, understandably, concerned but the best way to find out if there is something wrong with you is to make an appointment with your doctor to have these symptoms checked. So if you haven't done that yet it might be a good idea to pick up your phone and call your GP the next time you have a chance.

Hopefully what is causing this discomfort won't be anything but do know that if you need to talk we're to listen.

    All the best,
