Should I be worried?

Good Afternoon everyone,

Newbie, first post alert!

I had a biopsy 2 weeks ago after a mammogram recall. I was told I would get the results in 10 days, 2 weeks in and I've heard nothing. I called the hospital today and the head nurse called me back to say that the results were not back yet and they had been chased up on Friday. She gave me her direct number to call should I need to talk to her again about anything and that she would chase my results every day. She also told me that I would not hear anything until next week as the Multi-discipline panel does not meet until Friday.

Is that a sign that it's not going to be good news? Or am I worrying over nothing!

Any advice would be gratefully received.

TIA

  • Hi There

I hope you are doing ok? It's such a stressful time waiting for results.

I've been lead to belive that no matter what the findings of a biopsy are, all results go before a multi-disciplinary team before you get them. So this is standard procedure from what I gather. Even when things are found to be benign you may need some sort of treatment plan in place. This way, when they give the results they can also let you know what treatment plan has been decided upon should you need it.

Delay in results could purely be due to the number of biopsies they are having to process.

I know it's easy to let your mind wander down the most worrying of paths. Hopefully your results will be back very soon and all will be ok.

    Love Sarah xx
