Referral to colposcopy

I don't want to insult anyone by posting this and seem over the top as I know a lot of people will be suffering with cancer on here.
I have been told I have an inflamed cervix by the docter but clear of all STDS so they have said they have no idea why it's inflamed. My gp has referred me to colposcopy. I am in severe pain in my pelvis, can barely eat and really bloated and full up constantly. I also have immense pressure when I try to urinate  and back pain- a constant feeling of needing to urinate. I've tested negative  for UTIS. Just found slight protein in urine, I've had a kidney scan and that was all clear.   I know no one on here can tell me what it is but I'm just wondering if anyone has had similar symptoms and what it turned out to be? It's been Going on for 6 months now. I had CIN1 and hpv two years ago and smear in October 2020 showed it had cleared up by itself, basically I'm just terrified i could have cancer :(

  • Welcome to the fourm Ch1402 although I'm sorry about the symptoms you've been contending with. It sounds like the last 6 months have been very tough for you.

Hopefully you'll hear back from some of our members who have been in a similar situation soon but whilst you wait I just wanted to wish you all the best with your upcoming colposcopy and share some information we have about this procedure.

Fingers crossed everything will turn out to be o.k but if you'd like to talk things through with one of our nurses, they're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

    Kind regards,
