Worried

Hi

I've had changeable BMs and bleeding on and off for a while (slight ostrich tendencies) and alongside chronic fatigue I finally decided to go to the doctor 2 months ago! I was diagnosed with quite severe anaemia (reading of below 80/8) and started on iron supplements straight away. Referred for endoscopy - top and bottom The colonoscopy was so painful and I never want to experience that again but they managed to complete it and luckily got to the caecum where they did observe something. They didn't biopsy it and I really hope the don't have to go back in to do that. I saw the growth and of course despite being told not to Google it I did she found a pretty good match online and this combined with the words in the colonoscopy report have me terrified. I've got a CT today to rule out carcinoid (NET) or ovarian pathology! I'm so terrified and know that there will be the yet more waiting for the actual result!

ive read that NETs are pretty rare and I'm the type of person who likes to have as much info as possible ... so if there is anyone with a NET on here I would be grateful to hear experiences! Obviously I hope whatever I have is nothing but I'm preparing myself for the opposite!

thanks

  • As I noticed this is your first post with us, I wanted to come by to say hello and welcome you to the forum, Lapinou.

I can appreciate why you're concerned about the findings in your tests but do try to refrain from googling medical terms online, as there is a lot of unverified information available on the net.

We have other members here who have gone through a similar experience and I hope some of them will pop in soon to chat with you and offer their opinion.

Also, our lovely team of nurses would be happy to take your call if you feel that speaking with someone medically trained might help in the meantime. You can call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

And once you know more do come back and let us know how you are both doing. We’ll be thinking of you.

    Best wishes,
