Mole removal

Hi All,

So after taking a microscopic picture of the mole I was told they didn't think it was anything to be concerned with but to get it checked in person.

I visited a dermatologist last week, broke down crying prior to him even checking the mole. The dermatologist checked it and he advised best to get it removed but again didn't think it was anything to be concerned with.

I accidentally shaved over the mole around a month ago, so they have said they can see trauma to the mole and the dermatologist said it looks like a reaction.

I have the mole removed today and been up since 4am. The minor op doesn't scare me it's the results. I am very nervous and been a bit tearful today and couldn't sleep.

im pregnant too so this is playing on my mind quite a bit.

  • Hi Toni,

It's good that the mole is getting removed today. I know the results are making you very anxious but there really is a good chance they will come back clear and if they don't, it can be treated, so try to not dwell on it too much. Try focus on the fact that the cause of your worry has been removed today and put the results to the back of your mind until you get them. Mindfulness can be found on YouTube and will help get you through the waiting. xx

  • Thank you.

I went there to be told it's too big and they feel more comfortable removing at another hospital as more options. It is looking like next week now.

I have been reassured now by 3 doctors all seems fine but I just worry.

  • Just to provide an update mole was full removed last Friday and I am back in tomorrow for a check up.

I have started thinking about the results now, even though I was told by 3 different consultants they did not think it was anything to worry about. I think until you get them results it still sometimes creeps into your mind.

  • Hi,

It's only natural for you to feel like this. Good luck with tomorrow's check up. I doubt they will have your results back so quickly so you may have to be patient for a while longer. xx
