Cervical Polyp & Fluid in womb lining

Hi,

I had an ultrasound scan 3days ago which found a cervical polyp and I was told that there was fluid in the lining of my womb.

My doctor rang me at 8pm Thursday night (1 day later) after she received the results and spoke to me about them and to tell me she was referring me to gynecologist under an urgent referral.

The reason for the scan was because I was getting spotting and bleeding between periods and after intercose (not every time).

I have read that most of the polyps found are normally non cancerous but I'm still a little worried about that and the fluid in the womb does have me a little concerned.

Not really sure what the point of this post is really. Think I just needed to say I how I feel because I'm trying to act to my husband like it's going to be nothing so that he doesn't worry. But it's not helping my sanity

  • Hi MrsJK,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I can understand this must be unsettling and I know the uncertainty isn't easy. This forum is a safe space to write things down and to connect to others who understand, so I hope it is useful for you in that way.

While I'm sure it has caused some worry, at least the urgent referral will mean you should get answers much quicker.

I hope it's not too long for you to wait for your next appointment and to find out more.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben

  • Hi,

    Thanks for your reply.

Yes it has made me worry a bit and I keep thinking about it, it's all the unknown I think. But yes it's good there's an urgent referral so I'm hoping it won't be too long. My gp said I should hear from them in the next two weeks.
