Hi all, after 7 months of unexplained bleeding I had an ultrasound and they found a mass of bulging veins to one side of my uterus. Almost like varicose veins. Doctor said she had only seen this once and has referred me ''semi-urgently, to be contacted within 2 weeks". (I got a phone call from the doctors secretary so couldn't ask for any more info).
Anyone know what semi urgently means?! Is this a 2 week pathway?? Any anyone had anything similar??
I've read about pelvic congestion and I don't have any of the symptoms that fit?
Bit of background: bleeding started off at 8 months post partum, light spotting a couple of times a month, no actual return of my period when I stopped the pill for 6 weeks to see if it would put an end to the constant spotting when my baby turned 1. I have been on the mini pill since she was 6 weeks old and have used this pill in the past, having had kids before this isn't how my body normally reacts to it, and even with fully breastfeeding I've gotten my period back at 6 months pp and never had spotting or heavy bleeding. The bleeding has progressed to heavy gushes every 8 to 10 days now, that last around 4-5 days but i only bleed overnight/of a morning. On my 40th birthday I bled very heavily between 7-9 am and soaked a super tampon and my underwear-that is not normal for me.
No infection, no abnormalities like polyps or fibroids, never had an std, 5 kids but no prolapses, cervix nice and high and looks normal, no varicose veins. Had one previous surgery, D&C, for a missed miscarriage 2 months before my pregnancy, had a haemorrhage after birth controlled with bimanual compression, animal like screaming and drugs!
Googling is doing me no good. Worried about rare cancers and the like. Don't think it's pelvic congestion as I've no pain or any other symptoms?? Anyone?
