Post-Colonoscopy Issues - Serious?

Hi. Hoping a professional or someone knowledgeable can advise. Had colonoscopy 8 days ago, all went okay. 5 adenomas removed, the larger troublesome one they knew about was thought cancerous and sent for urgent biopsy (no news yet but I'm not anxious about this situation). Regardless, I have to have a sigmoidoscopy to remove it asap.

Post colo experience was pretty much as they told me to expect. But whenever I have a bowel movement - which is still infrequent since procedure - I don't feel too well. Aside from the blood and discomfort I had previously due to this growth - though there seems to be more blood now - I feel tired after and a bit nauseous, and my temperature goes up, but not seriously.

Question is, do I call them and say anything or is this fairly typical? I thought if it were a perforation or infection there'd be stronger signs according to their information. It's only when I 'go'. I really can't wait for them to remove this wretched thing :(

Thank you for any advice. Just don't want to bother them if it's just expected issue.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having episodes of feeling unwell following your recent colonoscopy. It's understandable that you may be feeling anxious. Don't be worried about bothering healthcare professionals if you feel unwell. It's better to get these things checked and to be given peace of mind than to wait and become more unwell.

If you feel unwell again over the weekend then maybe call 111 for some advice.

I hope things settle for you soon and your upcoming procedure goes smoothly.

    Best wishes,
