Worried sick of getting cancer

Hello..  I am 20 years old. I posted a few days ago about a mole that appeared out of nowhere which still has me extremely worried that its cancer and I've been misdiagnosed - I feel pain in the area but I'm not sure if that's my mind playing tricks on me or not.

I've also been suffering with pelvic pain and discomfort in that area as well as swelling down below which is being treated as thrush which I've had for almost 9 months. I'm worried sick that this is Ovarian cancer.

My lymph nodes on my neck also feels swollen, which I worry about as well.

I'm terrified of getting cancer or being told I don't have long left to live anymore and I'm worried about going to the doctors about all these problems. I do not want to waste their time or take up their time.. especially as I've already been twice within the past two weeks.

I'm really struggling mentally having these thoughts in my mind 24/7 to the point where I'm having nightmares of it. I'm in a lot of pain and I just really want some help. I am awaiting counselling but it could take at least 6 weeks before I get an appointment.

Thank you.

  • Hello. My advice is to go to your GP, that is what they are there for. Get all your worries out in one visit and go from there. Therapy combined with medication to control anxiety maybe an option, and your GP is the best person to advise on this. Don't ever feel like you are wasting there time. Having anxiety is an illness, I too suffer with health anxiety and constantly worry about cancer. Why should you go on suffering in silence. Access all services that are available to you.
