2 dimples in breast

Hi everyone,

I recently noticed two dimples (one quite big, the other smaller and less obvious) under my left nipple. I contacted my GP and was seen the same day. Before examining me she already said she would be referring me to the breast clinic because any breast change should be checked out regardless of whether she found anything or not. She examined my breasts and agreed that she could see the dimples, especially when I raised my arms above my head. She said she didn't think she could feel any lumps but she wasn't sure, and she said the doctors at the breast clinic would be able to confirm.

I'm 27, healthy and don't have any family history of breast cancer, so I'm fairly confident that it isn't breast cancer. However, I'm struggling to find any other explanations online and waiting for my appointment is making me anxious, so I was wondering if anyone on here has been in a similar situation and has been told what else could have caused their breast dimples? Just for a bit more info - I have been taking the contraceptive pill for ten years and have never been pregnant.

  • As I noticed this is your first post with us, I wanted to come by to say hello and welcome you to the forum, pixie94.

I can appreciate why you're concerned about these dimples on your breast but I'm glad that your GP has already seen and referred you to the breast clinic.

We have other members here who have gone through a similar experience and I hope some of them will pop in soon to chat with you and offer their opinion.

Also, our lovely team of nurses would be happy to take your call if you feel that speaking with someone medically trained might help in the meantime. You can call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

And once you know more do come back and let us know how you are both doing. We’ll be thinking of you.

    Best wishes,
