Swollen armpit

Hey,

so I've been a worrier for a long time and I'm pretty certain I have health anxiety however I have finally been listened to.

I went to the doctor last year about slight pain in my breast, they couldn't feel any lumps and said that there was fatty tissue but felt it was normal and nothing to worry about it. Fast forward a year I started getting a little bit of achy pain in my armpit so went to the doctors again. She examined my breast and said she couldn't feel any lumps she did notice abit of thickening (not sure what that means) but said it was nothing to worry about and I am checking my breast too often causing them to ache.

My armpit has been swollen for a while now and it feels like a constant achy pain, I recently had a car accident and spoke to my physio about my worry's, he was really lovely and has wrote my doctor a letter asking to get me in for an ultrasound.

 

I just wanted to know if anyone has experienced pain and inflammation in their armpit before and if this is something I should be so worried about?

    I'm sorry to hear that you've been worried about some swelling and pain in your breast and armpit. It's not uncommon for young women to experience these kinds of symptoms and to have areas of thickening or lumpy breasts. 

    It's good to hear that you've seen your GP and that they didn't have any immediate cause for concern. Hopefully, you won't have to wait too long for the ultrasound that your physio has recommended and the results will give you some reassurance. 

    In the meantime, you might want to have a look at the NHS website information about health anxiety which has lots of information and advice for coping with this problem.

    Hey!

    Did you have a scan on your armpit? Im intrigued to find out your results. I went to the doctors because i have a swollen right armpit and my whole shoulder & armpit is so achy now :( im waiting to hear from the breast clinic but my health anxiety is going crazy.

     

    I hope you're doing ok and got the answers you needed :)

    Hey!

    I never really got any answers but luckily after my ultrasound they confirmed it was nothing to worry about! 
    I still get pain and they said the lump was excess fatty tissue!
